Vision and mission
With strength of 1950 students, 75 members of the teaching staff and 28 group D staff members, today we have Mrs U Rao at the helm of affairs who is putting in her best efforts to give shape to her dreams regarding the school. The School is flourishing under her exemplary enthusiasm and making a steady progress..

The school is looking forward to expansion with work going on in an annexe building having additional 12 rooms. More development work is on the pipeline which will give the school a bigger playground and more washrooms. The school stands tall today as one of the leading educational institutions, in this remote, coal belt area catering to the communities in and around Ukhra. It aims to provide quality education, character building traits and moral values to the students and send them out to the bigger world as brand ambassadors of this school and better citizens of this country.

History
With the humble beginning in the year 1978 housed in a bunglow offered by the Eastern Coalfields Limited authorities, Assembly of God Church School Ukhra affiliated to the Council for ISC Examination New Delhi, began its journey as Modern School, with just 10 Staff members. In 1980 it got overhauled and hence, a new look under the surveillance of the Assembly of God Church Mission and the able guidance of the founder Member Mrs A Aidinyantz and the headmistress Late (Mrs) M Paul.

It has been an eventful journey since then as Mrs Aidinyantz continues with her support and blessings as a Member of the School Board. The reins of leadership in the day to day running of the school passed on from Late M Paul to Mr David Lawrence followed by Mrs B Shah whose association with the school dates back to its inception. The school reached new heights of glory under the sterling leadership of Late A K Malvea. After his tragic demise in March 2002, Mrs P Malvea became associated with the school on being the administrator of the three Assembly of God Church Schools of Asansol, Sodepur and Ukhra. Mr R Emmanuel was appointed as the Assistant Headmaster for a period of two years at the end of which he went back to AG Church School, Sodepur as the Headmaster.

From the Principal’s desk: Mrs Beatrice Shah
My goal as a principal is to establish a community of self-learners and self-managers - where everyone believes that every student can learn where school serves the whole student, where respect is honored, and where an interdependent and reciprocal partnership exists between parents, students, staff, and community. As a school leader, I want to be tireless in our quest for the most effective components of learning, from strategic to practical.

My conviction is for every student to find a level of success, to participate in setting his or her goals and have the resources necessary to accomplish those goals. I hope that students leave the school feeling successful in their accomplishments and prepared for the next stage in their lives. I hope that staff members feel respected valued and supported in meeting their own professional personal goals and that I will have been a facilitator of their success.
