General Information
K. E. Carmel School belongs to a CMI Group of Schools in West Bengal. It draws inspiration from St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara (1805-71), a visionary and social reformer of divine caliber, and the founder of two religious congregations among the St. Thomas Catholics in India, namely, the CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) for men and the CMC (Congregation of Mother of Carmel) for women. After his example, we have started more than 650 schools, 37 colleges and 8 Teachers’ Training Colleges in India (like Christ University, Bangalore, Jagdalpur, Irinjalakuda, Bhopal, K.E. College Mannanmar, SH College) for educating socially useful citizen with a strong conviction that each one is a precious gift of God.

Fees
The school fees and bus fees cover 12 months. Fees must be paid before the 15th of every month. Rebate is allowed on payment of the full year’s fees. Fees accepted in cash, cheque or card.

*(Kids Cab is the key to physical, mental, intellectual and social well being of children. K E Carmel School Sarisha takes an initiative to reach out to the under privileged section of the society with an outstretched hand under the name of KECSAP.
• It is a platform of social exposure poor children from classes 1 to 9
• Free medical aid is administered to the local people by eminent doctors. A week throughKECSAP
• Self help generation Programmes are undertaken to support the women
• Spoken English classes are held for the poor villagers
• Full/half Scholarships are granted for the academically brilliant but financially poor students

FREE EVENING COACHING CLASSES:
KE Carmel school imparts free coaching to the students of neighbouring areas of Chawrah, Jhinger Pole, Dostipure, MonshaHaat. The classes are held for upto standards 1 to 9.

FREE EVENING COACHING CLASSES IN NARAYANTALA:
Evening coaching classes have also started at Narayantala F P School from 16 November 2017 with a strength of 150 students. Classes are held for standards 1 to 6.

FREE MEDICAL CLINIC:
Free medical aid is administered to the local people under the aid of KECSAP. Eminent doctors give free treatment to the people twice a week (homeopath on Tuesday and allopath on Thursday). We are glad to inform that due to this initiative about 250 villagers are under this privilege. FREE EYE CHECKING CAMPS are organized from time to time for the poor village people. Cataract surgery is also administered on patients and spectacles are provided free of cost.

NEW HOUSE FOR SUPPORTING STAFF:
To provide a better standard of living KECSAP has provided a fund for building the houses of Supporting staff of the school. It is a remarkable effort with outstretched hands to bring the less privileged under the cover.

CONCESSION IN FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP:
KECS, Sarisha grants scholarships and concessional fees to many students. About one lakh rupees is spent for the improvement and enhancement of their education. A concern, a drive, a show to ignite the candle of knowledge.

SPOKEN ENGLISH CLASS:
A new class has been started with an overwhelming response in Sarisha .A spoken English class for the local students and the working men and women started from 26 April, 2018. The first batch comprised 45 students. Most of the students come from colleges, universities and high school, and avail of this benefit free of cost. Classes are held twice a week. Two eminent English teachers take the classes.

FIELD VISITS:
Regular field visits are organized specially in the houses of the surrounding villages and awareness generation camps held at Sarisha KE Carmel School.

Founder
St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the educationist and the visionary had a zeal to provide education to each individual to eradicate poverty from the society. He was a pioneer of education and he had a profound vision on the mission of education. He started many schools and one such school is the K. E. Carmel School .St. Chavara is titled as the Father of Literacy in Kerala. It is with his motto and principle that the school is run by the CMI fathers, under the same guidelines that he provided. St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara is the founder father of all the K E Carmel Schools across India.

History
K. E. Carmel School Sarisha was originally established by the CMI fathers at Basant Kunj in the year 2003 under the able leadership of Rev. Fr. Louis Kandankary CMI and it was later shifted to Ratneshwarpur.Rev.

Fr. Ludovic Pathical was the Manager of the School then. The present campus in Sarisha was established in the year 2008. On 30 June 2008 Rev. Fr. Kuncharia Pathil CMI, the Provincial of Trivandrum blessed the new school building. Rev. Fr. Joseph Puthenpura CMI, the Sub Regional Superior inaugurated the new session and blessed the school office on 4 May 2009.

Rev. Fr. Joshy Mayamparampil CMI undertook all the charges as the Secretary in 2008 and Rev. Dr. Paul Thamaracherry CMI was the first principal of the school. Charges were handed over to Rev Fr. Biju Palamattam CMI in the year 2011 as the next principal.

Rev. Fr. Louis Kandankary CMI became the Secretary of K. E. Carmel Group of Schools in the year 2015. At present, the school is under the supervision of Rev. Dr. Paul Thamaracherry CMI as the Secretary and Rev. Fr. Johnson Kadamthottu CMI as the Principal of the school.
