General Information
K. E. Carmel School belongs to a CMI Group of Schools in West Bengal. It draws inspiration from St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara (1805-71), a visionary and social reformer of divine caliber, and the founder of two religious congregations among the St. Thomas Catholics in India, namely, the CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) for men and the CMC (Congregation of Mother of Carmel) for women. After his example, we have started more than 650 schools, 37 colleges and 8 Teachers’ Training Colleges in India (like Christ University, Bangalore, Jagdalpur, Irinjalakuda, Bhopal, K.E. College Mannanmar, SH College) for educating socially useful citizen with a strong conviction that each one is a precious gift of God.

In this institution we strive to reach out to the perfection with an earnest academic pursuit for preparing students to their excellence and enabling them to take the right place in the society. We ignite the young minds to realize their potential and make positive contributions to the society at large. Through the curricular and co-curricular activities, our students are set to be intellectually well maintained, physically fit and emotionally matured to take up the life- challenging situations.

The CMI Mission aims at an education by which character is formed, strength of mind increased, intellect expanded and to help one stand on one’s own feet with a conviction that everyone is a precious gift of God. Hence, K. E. Carmel nurtures the little minds to become:
